Editorial approach & source standards
Yoga Pagoda is a wellness discovery platform. Our educational guides are designed to explain the practices people encounter in the directory without presenting Yoga Pagoda as a medical authority or treating inclusion as endorsement.

Why we publish practice guides
People often encounter unfamiliar terminology when searching for wellness services. Our practice guides provide a neutral starting point: what a practice is, what a visitor may experience, why people commonly explore it, and what questions about evidence and safety are worth considering.
A practice may appear on Yoga Pagoda because providers offer it and people search for it. That does not mean Yoga Pagoda has concluded that every claim associated with that practice is scientifically supported.
What sources we prefer
For health-related factual and evidence statements, we prioritize independent sources in roughly this order:
- Government and public-health sources such as NIH and NCCIH.
- Peer-reviewed systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including records indexed by PubMed.
- Professional, licensing or regulatory organizations when explaining credentials and scope of practice.
- Authoritative historical or cultural sources when describing origins and traditions.
Provider websites can help us understand how a provider describes its own services, but a provider's marketing claim is not treated as independent evidence that a health claim is true.
How we describe uncertainty
We try to distinguish among traditional beliefs, practitioner descriptions, personal wellness goals and findings supported by research. Where evidence is mixed, limited or negative, the guide should say so plainly. We avoid presenting a practice as a diagnosis or treatment simply because those claims are made within a tradition or by a practitioner.
This is especially important for practices such as iridology, where people may search for the service even though controlled research has not established it as a reliable diagnostic method.
Yoga Pagoda Editorial Team
Yoga Pagoda's editorial material is compiled and maintained by the Yoga Pagoda team for general educational use. We do not label a guide as medically reviewed, clinically reviewed or expert reviewed unless that specific review has actually taken place and is identified on the page.
Automated tools may assist with discovery, organization, comparison of sources or drafting, but they do not change our publication standard: source quality, wording, inclusion and publication remain subject to Yoga Pagoda's editorial controls.
Our guides are not medical advice and are not a substitute for diagnosis or care from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
We expect the information to evolve.
Research, professional regulation and common terminology change. We periodically revisit the guides and update material when credible newer information materially changes the context. Each practice page displays its latest editorial review period.
If you believe a factual statement needs correction or an important source has been missed, email contact@yogapagoda.net. A correction request does not guarantee a change, but it will be evaluated against the same source standards.
